If you have sex while on your period and you have HIV can the male get it too?

My friend and I were on the phone and we were talking about it and we wanted to know if that could happen.
 
If you don't use a condom whether it's during your period or not, anyone can catch HIV.

HIV is passed through bodily fluids. SO if you have unprotected sex during your period then there's an even higher chance he could contract HIV because of all the blood.
