I have a 40l fish tank with about 10 fish in. There are plants, rocks, stones ect. What i have found is when one dies, it is really hard to find and i need to get it out so that it wont pollute the water.

So if you have a big fish tank with lots of fish and things in how to you see if one has died?

40l isn't very big, just do a fish count for 10, if you can. and if one is missing, just look for any dead ones, i'm sure it wouldn't be too hard.

its not hard to find fishes dead. they may be floating on top of the tank or all the way at the bottom of the tank.but just look around to see if ones missing. so if ones missing then it might be dead or hiding

First of all, 10 gallons is not a very big tank. Second of all, what kind of fish are they? Normally 10 fish in a 10 gallon is way too many, unless you have tiny fish, like guppies. But even then, you should only have about 8 full grown guppies in a 10 gallon.

It's very easy to tell if one dies. You look at your tank daily, search under plants and decorations. If it's THAT hard to find, you should see it when you're doing your weekly water change. Or do a water change to find it if it's that bad.

Good luck!

well, 40L isnt that big but if you're like a lot of people, you have a large amount of plants that cover your fish. since you have 10 fish, i'd suggest fasting them all for a day or so and once you decide to feed them, all the live ones should swim up and eat like they're starving. count all the fish making sure they're ten. If one's missing, try shinning light with a flashlight on your plants. when fish die, you normally wouldnt find them within a plants or anything since they're weak. just above the gravel or the surface of the water.
