If you had to choose three fish for a 10 gallon aquarium?

What three would you choose? We previously had a dalmatian mollie (aggressive) a tuxedo platy (boring hid all the time) and a mickey mouse platy (she was okay). I am just curious to see what others would recommend. Please do not recommend a goldfish or a betta.
We choose to only have three because the aquarium is actually for a 10 year old and we did not want to overpopulate.
