...hate this argument. It is bull ##? I've been seeing this on the board lately (and the news) in relation to balancing the deficit / budget. Here is the gist of the argument: If you don't cut Defense, Social Security, or medicare its not really worth cutting or you are not making a difference or you are just grandstanding or playing politics.
Here's the thing about finance and life for that matter. Every dollar counts. Here's another. Do the little things because over time it accrues. To dismiss a cut because its too small is insane. Do you know what a bunch of small cuts add up to? A billion here, a hundred billion there, individually they may not make sense. In the larger scope of things, they do matter. They can add up to huge savings.
So let's just get rid of this ideology that if you're not cutting the big three you are only posturing. It is false. It is extremely shortsighted. And it is very misleading.
