If you do a sport that does not do well, does it count on college applications?

For example, the girl's basketball team but we barely win any games? Will that count on a college application because my older sister who is in college said that it didn't but I just wanted to make sure. Thanks! Also, do RECREATIONAL SPORTS count on college applications? Thanks again!

nope...schools dont look at how well your team does... they look at how well rounded you really are and how you can juggle school work and extra curriculars all in one...sure recreational sports count...its an extracurricular activity
