...in your back garden? Is there anyone you have to inform or any fees you need to pay for doing so?
I'm hopefully going to start up my own dog grooming business, and after just taking out a loan to cover previous debt, can't afford a grooming van.
Any tips or advice would be greatly received. Thanks.
I'm in the UK if that makes any difference at all.

And am NOT interested in any type of work from home offers. There is ALWAYS a catch. Thank you anyway.

I'm self-employed working from home, but just use a spare room as an office, so a bit different. I suggest you tell the local council, and also your home insurance and mortgage company or landlord, to be on the safe side.

I'd also suggest speaking to your neighbours before you start, and telling them to contact you directly if there's a noise or smell problem. If the first they find out is when you've started, they're more likely to go straight to the council.

If you want to make discreet enquiries at the council, phone them up but do the 1571 thing, so they don't get your number!
