...the black market? Meaning it'll become easier for criminals to obtain guns than for law abiding citizens?
I lean to the democratic/liberal side of politics, but I think oppressing guns just won't work out well in America. If we're to do it we'd have to secure our borders to ensure none sneak in. We'd also have to setup hunting grounds for traditional hunters to continue their hobby. Besides that it's just not easy kinda like banning drugs, it'll fire up the black market.
It's better to just leave it to the states. Doing something as major and as controversial as banning guns simply cannot but trusted to the federal government. Its too big a move, too fast. That's just my opinion on gun laws.
Also with that rational, would it be fair for me to suggest the exact same reasoning towards legalizing Marijuana?
