i'd say the blackberry, i've been to nam and you REALLY wouldnt want to bring to many gadgets.... i wouldnt advise bringing either, they have internet cafes and internet in most hotels/hostels.
Remember its a poor country = likelyhood of being stolen. You can get crazy rain storms = wet laptop. + why the hell would you want gadgets in such an amazing place, where ever you go surely you can live without?
I dont know the full story though, i'd recommend blackberry
