pdooma- some but not all. they ones yu can't afford are the same ones making themselves unaffordable through fribulous lawsuits especially in the medical field. if there are no limits to pain and suffering and said lawyer is to make a % of th settlement, why not jack up the settlement as there are no limits to pain and suffering which most medical mal-practice suits contain. Thus doctors have to charge more for their services, thus medical costs skyrocket.

The same great lawyers you mention would still be great, only thy would be paid a salary from all of us tax payers instead of by raking insurance companies over the coals and driing up insurance costs, including al practice insurance costs upwards. Thus doctor wouldn't have to pay so much in insurance, and could lower their costs on services.
