In your case, that would be totally up to Japanese authorities. The US military takes no position of advocacy for non-dependents.
Since you are unmarried, you would also not receive any housing assistance unless you are already allowed to live off-post, which would be incredibly unusual for an unmarried person. And living in Japan is far from cheap.
