Michigan now? Michigan updated their laws because a muslim woman was in court wearing a full burka, and the Judge said to take it off. but the women said that she couldn't in front of a male judge, so the judge told her either to take it off, or drop the case, and she dropped the case.
so then they updated their laws saying that they need to see a person's face or something like that in the court because that plays a part in determining if someone is guilty or not.
Anyway, if we're so for Freedom of Religion why doesn't Michigan, and France, allow full Burkas for religious reasons?
well, the Judge said there wasn't a female judge availiable.
the Law JUST took effect, Sept 1.
