...repainting from my deposit? I recently moved out of a duplex and when I moved in, there were already nail holes in the wall and smudge marks. When I moved out, I not only spackled the nail holes I created, but also the ones that were previously there, as well as wiped down every smudge mark. Obviously, the walls were not freshly painted before I moved in and now, my landlord is trying to charge me to repaint! I also hand cleaned the carpets and there were no spots when I moved out, but am being charged for professionally cleaning the carpets. I will accept that, but am livid about the painting issue. Am I responsible for this cost, even though the walls were in worse shape when I moved in??? Stupidly, I did not take pictures, but do have a witness that saw the walls before and after. I live in Arkansas and the laws seem so vague! Please help! I'll take any and all helpful advice!!!!
