...would they gotten out of it? I heard people say there were only 3 options
goto vietnam, goto jail or goto canada.
However I find this hard to believe.
I researched it, and it said over 360,000 dodged it, by simply never getting caught. An additional 125,000 went to canada, all together there were 550,000-600,000 draft dodgers.
How can those by the only 3 options? Wouldnt most people just look the other way if they knew somebody avoided the draft? I would have.
Couldnt the draft dodger, live with his mother, his father, his aunts, uncles, grandparents. I mean they did not search relatives houses, did they?
If it was a married couple, couldnt they get a diovorce, have the husband go missing, and continue to live together, and wife work and the husband take care of the kids?
I dont understand how those were the only 3 options, canada jail or vietnam, why couldnt they just ignore there draft notice, and everybody just not turn him in?
