If someone asked to argue against this situation based on moral principles what would

you say:? Due to over population and the rising cost of heath care, the citizens of the United States are voting on an amendment to the Constitution that requires all people reaching the age of 50 to be put to death.

This is for research if you could state your gender and age it would be greatly appreciated if you can't please do not answer the question since this is for a report and I only need those I can use for statistical purposes!
Okay people I AM NOT SAYING THESE ARE MY VIEWS! I was given this view that I have to get statistics upon so I thought yahoo would help me get a lot of views and a wide variety of ages to use as statistical guide lines. Those who leave vulger messages will be turned in!

Wow...Logan's Run for the modern man?

Hmmm...I'm 51 right now, and have been considering my own mortality for a while now. It would be hard to adjust my thinking, but I'd not find it that offensive. Right now my health is good, my mind active and I am still finding beauty in my life. Who's to say that won't change in a year?
I'd question the choice of age, and want to be absolutely sure that there were no loopholes to the "law" that could be exploited by any group...ethnic, financial, etc. Especially, I'd question the method. After all. I'm human...I don't want to end in pain.
There are a lot of science fiction books, movies, and even television shows that have explored this....maybe looking into them would help with your assignment.

I'm a month and a half away from 50. The moral argument is a simple one, to me. the answer to Overpopulation is not euthanasia, it is birth control. Monetary value should never be placed on Human life. Never.
Profit and cost/benefit should never be considerations for the continuation of life, only personal decisions on quality of life issues. As a society our values are being skewed towards profits and away from the value of life - this country was founded on the ideal that a basic human right is the right to life. If everything is to be decided on a cost/benefit analysis then most Human Life would be of no value.
