If "socialism" is bad for business, how come Sweden ranks higher than the US in

economic competitiveness? Yes, it's true. And "socialist" Germany, Japan, Finland, Netherlands, Denmark and Canada are all rated about the same as the US, and higher than Hong Kong, supposedly the most "laissez-faire", low tax, free market economy on earth.

Of course, these countries are not really socialist, but rather social democracies, and very much capitalist. But Fox News calls them socialist, because they have high taxes and take care of people in need, rather than dumping them in the street to die like America does. So we'll use that term for the sake of argument.

Stated another way, if high taxes are bad for business, how do you explain the economic competitiveness (and higher standard of living) of all these countries?
