I am currently writing a story which involves my main character being hit full-on by a speeding car. Some of the injuries she has sustained are: serious internal bleeding, several fractured ribs, a fractured wrist, and a broken leg.
I was wondering:
~ Are these injuries accurate, in terms of the situation?
~ What sort of treatment would one recieve for these injuries?
~ How long would one spend in the hospital recovering, and how long would one have to spend recovering at home?
~ Could these injuries be life threatening, and could any diseases/infections be contracted for having such injuries?
I'd appreciate answers from people who have any experience in this section (hopefully NOT from the point of view of the person who recieved this injuries!) Any extra information would be GREAT.
