I was listening to the news and they said so. It makes since though, he yelled about the deficit but then added almost three trillion to it; vastly more then Bush spent in his entire 8 years.

EVERYTHING in his speech the other night was hypocrisy or outright lies.

Obama "attacked" so many things..... and HE was at the heart of them !!!

Obama attacked "banks that gave bad loans"..... after Obama LITERALLY was 1 of the lawyers who SUED banks and FORCED them to make loans to minorities who they KNEW couldn't afford to repay the loans.

Obama attacked "deficit spending"..... but TRIPLED it with the stroke of his pen.

This guy SAYS one thing, and then DOES ANOTHER. Do you call this "leadership"? Only if you are leading a bunch of brain dead zombies.

Bush already has that distinction but he took 8 years to earn it. Obama's been in office for about a month. Give his plan a chance. I doubt he'll be worse than Bush.

Of course not.
Bush got us into a war and took our national debt from 0 to ten trillion dollars.

You are so naive it makes me laugh. Which right wing station were you listening to? Barach inherited the deficit, remember, and you have to spend to fix the bushed-up economy.

Racists-go home.

I'm not sure (but do suspect) what news you rely on but your numbers are inaccurate and misrepresenting the facts. Even with the stimulus package included we have a deficit of 1.75 trillion. Also, that includes the cost of the wars which GWB creatively hid by funding it outside the budget with emergency funds he asked congress for every 6 months. Also, if you tally up everything GWB spent in 8 years the total is closer to 24 trillion, so the 3 trillion budget isn't that different than GWB's 2.4 trillion annual budgets plus the approximate 800 billion annual emergency funds.

no
we've had some pretty bad presidents in the past
remember there are more presidents than just fdr, jfk, reagan, bush and carter

i mean buchanan was pretty bad--he was very soft, gave in to the south---did nothing and further divided the US
um...fillmore was bad too

We went from a budget surplus to the largest deficit in the nations history, we went from a nation at peace to a nation at war on two major fronts, and don't forget the economy. We went from the strongest economy in the nations history to a deep recession, all on GW's watch. I believe Presednt Obama has a tough act to follow before he can be declared the worst president in the nations history.

When he declares war on Iran unprovoked without any justification, then he'll be the worst President in history.

People weren't entirely in agreement with FDR during the Great Depression either, but he must've done something right because America came out of it during his administration (counting Truman).

Similarly, FDR assumed office in a bad position because of the prior administrations failings. If Obama were to take over for Clinton in 2000, we'd be immensely better off than we are now. With all the wealth we had amassed, if it were going to fund the three fields that tend to benefit society and the world at large the most (education, energy, and healthcare) we would be rivaling the Romans at the height of their empire.

Take it for what its worth, Bush screwed up big time, and passed all the problems and unfinished conflicts onto the next guy to solve. While people might not be entirely in agreement with Obama's policies at the time (which I'm not entirely either) if things do get better in the near future, people should be willing to acknowledge his contribution.

All this crap about passing on debt to the future generations is meant to incite fear and anger, in people that know nothing about our current situation. Do you think people really cared about the future generations when they couldn't even afford to eat in the Great Depression? As bad as the debt is (and will be) doing nothing would be like allowing gangrene to grow without amputating. In four years we would be in such a greater world of Sh!t had Obama done nothing.

1. Bush has spent more than ANY president in the history of the world ... get your facts straight

2. No matter what, no one can do as bad as Bush. Simply not possible. Bush focused every second of the last 8 years finding ways to avoid the right thing to do and he did a great job at it. Not seeing that only means you're completely blind and biased!!

Not by a long shot. Bush failed on so many levels. If Obama only fails economically, then he is still a better president than Bush for a number of reasons, like morality
