...mankind, why should I? Paul said: "Christ died for our sins." But he was the one who terrorized the first followers of Christ!
And Christ said to the women who morned for him just before the crucifixion: "Weep not for me, but for yourselves and for your own children." That doesn't sound like the proclamation of "Good News for mankind" to me. It sounds like a curse on mankind!
And believers tell me that the Apostles didn't think of the Crucifixion as good news for mankind either.
So if neither Christ nor his apostles thought of the Crucifixion as good news, why should I?
(Believers tell me that the Apostles were zapped by the Holy Spirit after Christ was gone but I read the account of the Pentecost and did not notice any such conversion to the idea that the Crucifixion was "good news for mankind.")
So why do you want me to overturn the understanding and feeling of both Christ and his Apostles? Is this "believer" thing some kind of Anti-Christ movement or something?
