If my bank offered me a 8grand car loan would..?

Im trying to get a car. I went to my bank today to get a loan. I wanted to get 10,500 but they said no the most they could do was 8grand but the car has to be a 2004 or newer. Im trying to get a mustang GT. Years 99-04. They told me my credit score was 658. I was jw if I went to one of them dealers that fiance older cars like 00-02 do you think id get approved like my bank approved me? I only make 20grand a year
