And why, what policies did he have that were in common with today's political parties?

If he were alive today, that would make him about 200 years old, so I don't think he would care one way or another.

What he would be is ashamed. This country is in a terrible state, and he wouldn't recognize it.

Republican, so would Martin Luther King

Both men believed strongly in personal responsibility.

Not the Democrats strong suit.

Democrat. Lincoln is rolling over in his grave in what the Republican Party has become, a party of intolerance and excessive government spending.

I don't think that anyone could have foreseen the utter sublimation of a Democratic Republic by a newly "elected" oligarchy-even if only for a mere 8 years- just look at how much they have managed to accomplish, if that is the right word, could have submitted the American people to. Lincoln would have found the present scenario a true 'Abomination'.

Republican and so would Kennedy. Both men were very similar. They would not want the socialism that exits with the Democrat party today. Both men had the idea do for your country not the other way around.

One Fact I know If He was alive in Illinois Politics of Today He would be very Upset with Members of both Parties saying what a Matter with you guys and Girls You have No Moral, and Ethical Backbone and you all should be ashamed.

He would form a Third Party like Britain does, and He would make Ralph Nader look like JFK, Because The Dem's and GOP would get a Smackdown by the Lincoln Party.

Don't Argue with the Man that Put Illinois on the Map.
