don't believe in the boogyman? and/or other mythological figures, that we firmly believed in when we were younger.
How does one disprove the existence of the boogyman? It is not the same comparison as Santa Claus, Santa Claus by definition is thr person who brings presents on Christmas eve, when learns that it is our parents, by definition Santa cannot exist. The booyman cannot be proved or disproved, you learn he does not exist, because you do not experience the boogyman, and thus your fear is reduced until you come to the conclusion that the boogyman does not exist period, since you have no reason to believe, no experience to validate the notion.
