if i'm on my period will the pregnancy test be wrong when i take it?

i have all the symptoms i know it sounds funny cuz i'm on my period but i've asked about it and i've bee told to see a doctor but i wanted to see if a home pregnancy test would work
okay, so if i think i'm pregnant and i'm on my period and i take the pregnancy test will the results be correct??
