I must withdraw from a chemistry class. It's now the 9th week of school (out of 16). The class is 5 credit hours because it has a lab component. This will take me from 15 hours to 10 hours for this semester. I was awarded a Pell grant of $5500 for the 2010-2011 school year and my Fall classes totaled $1525 so I had extra money left over. I know withdrawing could easily affect my financial aid. How will it affect it? Will it affect it in the future? Will I have to pay FA back for this withdrawn class?
WHY I MUST WITHDRAW: It's not an option to stay in this class because I have to use the most recent chemistry class on a Radiology program application and I'm not doing as well in this chemistry class as I did in a prior chemistry class. Either chemistry class is allowed to be used for the chemistry general education requirement for the program. If I use the current chemistry class my application will not generate enough points to be accepted into the program. Not being accepting this year is not an option.
Thank you in advance.
At my school, we receive one Financial Aid disbursement check near the 5th week of school. I have received all the financial aid I had for this semester.
