...will it take? I'm not a very fast rider, but being Christmas, I want to go and see a friend who's stuck at home all day. I have to be back home in a couple hours, and I was just wondering how long it would take. I read somewhere that the average cyclist rides 20mp/h...it's not that i didn't want to do that math, it's that I need the ride to be less than an hour long...
 
Depends on the terrain, the elements, the weather, traffic, type of highway/road/traffic, etc.
I used to ride my bike 30 miles down a county road to visit my friends about twice a week and I could do that in an hour and a half.

Stop wasting your time though! Get off answers and get over there!!! You'll never know til you do it once, and the more you do something the easier it becomes.
