If I was recruited or accepted in the sheriffs academy would it be like boot camp? ?

I want to know if I was accepted to train to become a sheriff would I have to live at the academy until I graduate or would it be like school come early leave late?
 
It depends on which academy you're going to. Some are residential and some are day only.
 
Depends on the Academy. Some larger departments, like the LA County Sheriff for example, run their own in-house academies, which are often live-in. Many smaller departments only hire people who've already got their certificate, and you 'can' get that through Monday-Friday classes at your local community college.
