If I was fired for attendance at work. Can I get rehired (Restaurant, Michigan)?

I missed a day of work and was fired as a no call/no show. This was a month or so ago. One of the former employees told me they are extremely short staffed now.I told him to ask the GM if I could have my job back.

What do you think they will say?

usually, you get a warning for a no call/no show...they probably used that as an excuse to fire you so odd are: they probably don't want you back

if they are that short handed and you were otherwise a good employee, I can see you getting rehired...

Maybe, but would you really want to. I've never heard of a place firing someone for one no-show.
