dead organisms? If I want to build artificial life using chemicals or cells from dead organisms,
I think that would mean creating zombies
because the shape of the molecules inside living beings are created by the cells and cannot appear in nature by themselves
For example, the molecules of cotton or paper are identical to starch in composition, but are shaped in such a way that starch and cotton have different properties
If I try to create the ingredients I need to assemble artificial life by abiogenesis, they will not get the right shape therefore they will not get the right properties needed to assemble life
This is why life cannot appear without life. Abiogenesis is meaningless
Simple sugars can appear without the need of life, but they do not possess the right properties to be life ingredients.
________
Amoeba is complex life. The DNA of simple life must have a few genes, not tens to hundreds like amoeba
