If i use a transfer cable will i still have the new content?

I want to buy a transfer cable to transfer the stuff from my old xbox on to mt new xbox and i was wondering if the new stuff i have saved on my new xbox will be overwritten. I have started several new games since i got my new one and i want
to know if the profress on my new games will be deleted.
