if i take up humanities (arts ) in school, can i still do business studies in college?

I live in india,so anyone answering the question should be well versed in how the education system here works,right?

okay.so here goes.
what i really wanna do is either journalism or economics honors or give the civil services examination (yeah,you bet i'm confused! )
but i'm not the risk taking kinds,so i'll like to have a job that is well settled.

if i take arts, it'll be a combination of history + political science + economics + english + maths.
and if i take commerce,it'll be a combination of accounts + business studies + maths + economics +english.

so basically i have english,maths,economics anyways (which is what is needed for me to do what i want to)

but the question arrives when people say commerce is the safest stream.and i sorta believe it too.
but i want humanities in 11th and 12th.because i prefer it more.
so my question is, if i take up humanities in 11th and 12th, then can i still do business studies in my college years ( if i change my mind) or is it better to do commerce in school only?
english and economics are my strong points.
please help!i'm really paranoid about all of it right now :S
