You report your income on Schedule C. If the net profit is more than $400, you attach Schedule SE to figure the self-employment tax. You may or may not receive Forms 1099 from some of your customers though you must use your business records to file your tax return regardless of how much is reported on Forms 1099.
If you have employees you'll report their income on Forms W-2 and if you pay certain subcontractors you'll report that on Forms 1099-MISC.
If you also work as an employee yourself, you'll receive a W-2 for that.
