I'm joining the Army Reserves in a couple months. My number one choice is broadcast journalist but I might choose another job. I'm trying to get my bachelor's degree so I can go to OCS but I decided to enlist now so I could have a view of both sides and not just go straight to officer. My husband is also a Marine and he'll be deploying this fall, that's why I decided to go in then so I could get all the basic training out of the way while he's gone. He is full active duty and he usually deploys for seven months at a time and I know Army deploys for an average of 14 months. So my question is if I join the Army, what are the chances of me getting activated to deploy? I don't want to deploy for a few years so that I'll be able to finish school with no interruptions.
