If I have a 72hr jail sentence & check in Friday - will I be released Sunday?

They told me I have 72hrs for a DUI (no lectures please, I know I'm a moron).. but my Public Defender said I'd report Friday and be released sometime Sunday. This was via phone, so I could have HEARD Sunday and it really was Monday.. but I've also heard that one weekend is credit for 3 days (72hrs). Anyone have any idea? Experience? Etc.

I'm not a math mathematician, but I'm pretty sure Fri-Sun is 48 hours.. just saying.
