If I had a reaction to a flu shot once...

is it likely I'd have a bad reaction again? Two years ago, I got really nauseous the day after having a flu shot. I'm very certain it was the shot because I'd never been that nauseous before. It was awful. It could've been the batch of shots was bad since it was a fire station drive, and the employees weren't very professional.

I obviously haven't gotten a shot since, but now that I work around kids, I think maybe I should get one. Should I risk it? If I had a reaction once, will I have it again?

I've heard other people say the exact same symptoms as you are with the flu shot. I don't get the flu shot, never will. Not all respond the same to injections, but if you had a reaction before , i would say this is how you will respond to the flu shot.

Did you get the flu during the season after you had the flu shot? Working around kids, flu travels thru the many families.

This will definately need to be your decision of having the flu shot.
Keep us posted on what you decide to do.

Wish you well

About 15 years ago I had the flu shot and got really sick. The following year I had the dr give it to me as a split. (2 injections a week apart just under the skin) I still got sick. I didn't have one for 10 years. 5 years ago I tired again since i worked in a school. No problem. I have had one every year since with no side effects. My husband had also sworn off the shots as he got sick 15 years ago. However, he has no spleen now so he has to have the flu shot. He has had no problem either
