If I get forza 4 limited edition, will I be able to resume game progress on the forza 4 I already have?

I'm wondering this...since I know it would be a bit hard to upgrade to the limited edition since it comes with a bunch of physical goodies. I already own forza 4, just not the limited edition. They didn't have it at my local gamestop. If I get the limited edition and trade in my copy now, will I be able to resume game progress on the limited edition? I assume with the limited edition I would just install a few more CD's and it wouldn't be any different or it shouldn't matter. But what do you guys think?
