if i dont work out today, will i lose the progress i made the day before yesterday?

heres the deal. i never work out. i started on monday. it is wednesday. I can NOT hold up my arms above my head and its even difficult to drive. my sister who was in the class with me, is telling me that;

-if i work out tonight it will feel better
-if i dont work out tonight i will lose the progress i made on monday.

this doesnt make sense to me because to me its like if i tore up my muscles on monday night, they need to be built back up again before i tear them down again, or else i will just keep my muscles tore up.

so is what she's saying actually true, or is she just trying to get me to come back to the class???
