if I don't want text to wrap around an image in HTML, how do I get the text...

...just to display below the image? The text is not a caption for the picture, so I want it to start as a new paragraph below the picture, not wrap around the picture. So I put the image in (left align), then put in two line breaks using <BR>, and then started the text with the <P> tag, and still the text is aligning with the bottom right corner of the image. How do I get the text to just display below the image, not as a caption, but with a line of space below the image?

(I need CSS code that will work with Internet Explorer 4.)
