If I don't get a HS Diploma or GED by time im 18 can I loose my small court settlement

money? The title pretty much says it all. My grandmother told me that but I think she was just trying to scare me. I know for a fact if I get pregnant I loose it because it would go straight to my child...right?
The settlement money is from me getting hit my a car in the 7th grade. I recieved about 4,000 dollars. It's more than that now because of interest.
 
Next of kin seems to be the norm. Your GrandMother couldn't paint it anymore real for you. Getting a GED takes only two 4 to 6 hour days to complete and will benefit you for a lifetime. Or you can be a mooch the rest of your life, scamming, stealing, and living off Welfare to get by. Most people who quit school and have kids too young and unprepared to support even themselves, end up making the same decision you are contemplating right now.
