im rebuilding my 1980 ford pinto's head. i found a 461500 Isky RACE cam that i wont to put in it. what type of valve springs and lifters will i need to go with the new race cam????? if there is anything els i will need plz tell me.......

go to isky s web site and find out the spring specs they recomend, might have to upgrade the whole valve train lifters rockers push tubes springs then hope its not too big of lift. usually race cams have a big lift if its too big you may have to have the valves angle cut , for piston to valve clearance, or find a good machine shop and talk to someone who really knows and could lead you in the right direction,it could get costly but its better to do it once and do it right than have to redo it and cost more money

its a in-line engine put the money into the heads, the better the flow of induction and the better the outflow of exhaust will produce higher torque and torque wins races not horsepower,so port,or have your heads flow ported intake and exhaust then port match the intake and a set of 3 stage or progressive headers with a free flowing exhaust,if you even go with stock flat top pistons and a 475 cfm carb you will make a ton of torque and should see fair fuel mileage depending on many factors like how you drive and gearing still you should be able to get 18-20mpg pretty easy.
