If i Buy the new HTC Passion/Bravo from USA will it work in the UK?

HTC is bringing out the new phone Passion(USA) Bravo(Europe) as far as i can tell from looking on the net. This is a phone i would love to own, my question is as the USA is getting the phone in January and us europeans in April, if i bought the phone in january from the USA and got it shipped here would it work here in the UK ?
