If I buy an unlocked blackberry bold from America can I still use the Internet

on the phone in Australia i? Want to buy an unlocked blackberry bold 9000 from eBay America but I still want to use the Internet with my provider in Australia. Is this possible. I don't want to use a blackberry data plan with the whole email pack just my normal data pack which I currently use on my iPhone.
