If i buy a phone in the US and use in hong kong.. will it work?

i want to get the "Samsung Impression" from the states but i live in Hong Kong. will most functions still work on the phone?? e.g: text, im, gps??

Also. do you think it'll support chinese in texting and/or song names.. etc?

It will work with China Mobile, CSL limited, Hong Kong telecommunications, Hutchison, and SmarTone. (they are the only one to use the same frequencies)
For calling only.
This phone you can't change the settings for texting and internet. So it would be only able to be used for calling.
(Not worth it then IMO)
