If I buy a nokia 6300 with the vodafone network would i be able to unlock it at home?

My old 6300 broke yesterday and I wanted to buy another one cause i think there the best phones but the only one availablele are locked to the vodafone network and im with optus..

if i bought one can i unlock it at home? like look for a code on the internet would this work or do i have to take it to someone to unlock it for me for a fee..??
