If I bring a stolen iPhone (that I bought from a friend) into Apple for repair,

do they take it away? I bought an iPhone off my friend.
I'm not sure where she got it, but I think she might have stolen it. (I'm also not sure if it was reported as stolen.)
Apple obviously has the serial number.
If they realize that it is a stolen phone, will they take it away from me?
