If I am about to buy a 2005 Mazda RX8, am I covered by the 100k warranty?

I am buying a 2005 Mazda RX-8 from a little used car place a ways down the road. Not a actual Mazda dealership. I am glad to see that there is an extension to 8 years/100k miles and I want to find out if the car I am getting will be eligible. As in, even though it has been bought and sold and few times and already has 50k miles on it, will I be able to use that warranty? And if so, how do I stay eligible?

Thanks a bunch. And please don't bash me for buying the car or what ever...

"Dear Mazda Dealer:
Mazda Motor Corporation is extending the warranty coverage on Rotary Engine Core Components on all 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 model year RX-8 vehicles. The warranty coverage for the Rotary Engine Core Components is extended to 8 years (96 months) from the original warranty start date, with a 100,000 mileage limitation.
The following is a list of components covered by this warranty:
Rotary Engine Core
Rotary Housing and Internal Parts
Internal Seals and Gaskets
This is not a recall. This is a warranty extension for the specified parts only. Inspection and replacement of non-failed parts will not be eligible for reimbursement to the dealer or customer. This program extends the warranty period for actual failures due to defects in workmanship or materials in accordance with Mazda Warranty Policy and Procedures."

Meaning yeah it applies. But the extension applies to only the parts above. Meaning...they know the engines they put in these are pooptacular. You can look it up for yourself; the forums are alive with stories about the problems with these cars.

Your choice. Hope you're getting it REALLY cheap.
