If God will ultimately judge homosexuals in the afterlife, why not simply leave them in

peace in life? Surely if God is so mighty and committed to Its decree that homosexuality is dag-nasty evil, It will punish its practitioners appropriately after death?

If that is truly the case, why do people go vigilante, taking God's law into their own hands to condemn homosexuals in this life? Isn't it a bit presumptuous to act as God's police force when it may not be "warranted"?
The Hat: This isn't directed specifically at Christians who persecute homosexuals, but at anyone who does so while deputizing themselves as God's own police force. If you happen to believe that it is righteous, in this life, to go out of your way to make the life of homosexual people miserable because you think God thinks they're "broken" people, then you're included in this stellar group of individuals (by stellar I mean "out of this world" or "in orbit" or "crazy").

If God does exist, there's already overwhelming evidence that God creates, then leaves stuff to its own devices. That being the case, why go out of one's way to batter homosexuals with the notion that they're flawed, sinful, and on a slow boat to Hell... unless those who do this derive enjoyment out of making people feel miserable, perhaps making them revel in their own "nyah nyah, I'm going to heaven and you're not" mentality?
