If Forrest Gump voted would he be a Democrat or a Republican ?

i have seen the movie Forrest Gump with close interest many times .. i cannot figure out if he voted ( assuming he did so intelligently ) will he be a democrat or a republican .. any opinion ?
(pls do not answer green party or independant..... )
