Freddie and Fannie were only a small part of the economic collapse. A much bigger part of the mess was the Republicans deregulating all of the other banks so that they could engage in the same risky loans that Freddie and Fannie were created to offer. Besides, Dodd and Frank stepping down would do nothing to improve the business practices of GM; the Pres. of GM stepping down probably would, though.
No it was S.190 in 2005 and the co-sponsors were McCain and John Sununu, who just got thrown OUT of office!
In case you want to know, that bill took ALL oversight from the government and would have put it with a PRIVATE oversight entity which did not even have to report to Congress!
Last I checked Dodd and Frank had nothing to do with the auto industry going belly up. So they are democrats. McCain supported the same thing, I don't hear you saying he should step down.
