Debate is scheduled to be held in Mississippi tomorrow night at 8 - 9:30 p.m. central time (9 - 10:30 p.m. eastern time).

If one or both candidates don't appear, what was / are their alternate plans to be during that time if not at debate ? Option has been presented to delay the debate. Yet if not personally being sought out for their input at the decision table with the President and his counsel, why attend ?

Aware that there's severe financial crises that's being focused on and tended to and the severity to reach a decision quickly. Yet, I don't understand what else was going to actively be going on in Washington during that (approx. 2 hour) time span that the candidate(s) need to phisically be present at the decision table with the President and his counsel. The candidate(s) focus to the importance is admired and valued, yet also like to see time put to producive use.

There are hopes that financial decisions will be set by or before that time tomorrow evening (by Sunday evening at the latest). Yet, if the the candidates do or don't show for the debate, what else is the candidate(s) plans to actively, and more importantly productively, be during during that same evening time frame ?

Has it been been specifically required by anyone the crucial specific importance for either or both of the candidates be seated at the decision table with the President and his counsel for the candidates input to the decissions being made?

Looking for real replies please to base question asked here. Not so much looking for replies expressing preferences of candidates or their focus.

Asking specifically about what McCain and Obama will actively and productively be doing 8 - 9:30 p.m. central time (9 - 10:30 Washington eastern time) if one or both don't attend to hold the debate.
