small business regulations? In the US you are NOT free to wake up in the morning and conduct business how ever you want. So your only option is to go around interviewing for jobs in an environment that is now fiercely competitive. You can't assume that everyone who's unemployed is a loser who doesn't want to work. If that same person woke up tomorrow and decided to sell sandwiches outside a construction site they'd be ticketed and possibly arrested depending on the city they're in for not having a 250 dollar vendor permit or because the permit they have doesn't allow them to setup a stand in that area.
Here in New York hundreds are losing their jobs due to restaurants now being forced to post a letter grade on their front window after city inspections. All over the city restaurants with low grades are closing down due to people walking by after they see the low grade. Some estimates have said around 7% are NYC eateries are in the process of closing down. Isn't it up to the customer to decide which places stay open? Also what's lovely is that somehow all the fancy expensive places uptown were excused from the program due to 'aesthetic reasons'.
Are you people KIDDING ME? We've had Bloomberg for 8 years and the city only becomes more constricting with each year that passes. Do not play the game of calling NYC a liberal haven. That's the last thing it is. Why do backwater dwellers think all cities are liberal communes?
