since warren buffet bought bnsf for a couple billion dollars, why is matt still the ceo, and i have realized that with other company's owned by berkshire hathaway, and realized that the original ceo's before they got bought out are still the ceo of that company, can someone explain?
thanks

Why not? Somebody has to still run the company, and Buffet probably doesn't want to try to run every company BH buys.

Berkshire isn't a buyout firm that buys and strips companies.

Berkshire searches for quality well run companies with the plan to own them forever. Part of this is to keep current management who know how to run the company. Its rare for Berkshire to change management. Buffett has stated that he has no plans to change management at BNSF.

FYI, the full acquisition hasn't taken place yet. Its hoped to take place in a month or so.
